LEER 180 Camper Shell | Premium Fiberglass Truck Bed Cover
The LEER 180 is our go-to fiberglass camper shell for truck owners who want a clean, factory-matched look with serious storage capacity. We engineered the 180 to follow your truck bed's exact contours, so the shell sits flush and looks like it rolled off the assembly line that way. The fiberglass construction resists dents and dings better than aluminum, and the smooth gelcoat finish is paintable to match your truck's exact color.
Our 180 fits full-size pickups from Ford, Chevy, GMC, Ram, and Toyota. You get a front sliding window with a screen, two side windows that pop out for ventilation, and a rear door with a premium locking handle. Inside, you'll find carpeted walls and a dome light, so the bed feels like a finished space, not just a covered box. Whether you're hauling tools Monday through Friday or camping gear on weekends, the 180 keeps everything dry and secure.

Fiberglass construction & finish options

We build the 180 from a single-piece fiberglass mold, which eliminates seams and weak points where water might sneak in. The gelcoat finish is thick enough to resist UV fade and minor abrasions, and it can be color-matched at any auto body shop if you want a perfect paint match. Most customers leave it in the factory white or black gelcoat — both hold up for years without clear-coating.
Fiberglass weighs less than steel but more than aluminum, so you get a middle ground between durability and fuel economy. The shell won’t dent if you back into a low branch, and it won’t sound like a drum when hail hits. If you do scratch the gelcoat, you can buff it out with compound or touch it up with fiberglass repair kits from any hardware store.
Window configuration & ventilation

Front sliding window
The front window slides open and locks in place, and the removable screen keeps bugs out when you’re parked at camp. The glass is tempered, so it won’t shatter if a rock kicks up on the highway.
Side pop-out windows
Both side windows push out from the bottom and prop open with a friction stay. You can crack them for airflow while you’re driving, or open them all the way when the truck is parked. Each window has a screen insert that slides into a track.
Interior features & cargo space

We carpet the inside walls and headliner to cut down on noise and give you a finished look. The carpet is marine-grade, so it won’t mold if you track in wet boots. The dome light mounts at the front center of the ceiling and turns on automatically when you open the rear door — you can also flip it to a manual switch if you want it off.
The 180 is available in three heights: standard, mid-high, and high-rise. Standard height sits low and aerodynamic, which is better for fuel economy. Mid-high adds a few inches of headroom, and high-rise gives you enough clearance to stand tools upright or stack coolers. All three heights use the same fiberglass shell design, just with taller side panels.

What people are saying

Common questions about the LEER 180
Yes, the 180 works with spray-in bedliners. The mounting clamps sit under your bed rails, so the liner won't interfere with installation. You may need to trim a thin strip of liner where the clamps contact the rail, but this won't affect the liner's overall coverage or warranty. Most installers do this routinely.
Absolutely. The gelcoat finish is paintable with standard automotive paint. Most body shops will scuff the gelcoat, apply a primer, and then spray your truck's exact color code. The process takes a few hours and the paint bonds permanently to the fiberglass. Some customers also wrap the shell in vinyl if they want a matte or custom finish.
The 180 weighs between 150 and 200 pounds depending on the height option and bed length. Standard-height shells for short beds are on the lighter end, while high-rise shells for 8-foot beds are closer to 200 pounds. Two adults can lift and position the shell without mechanical help.
No, you can leave the shell on and still use a fifth-wheel or gooseneck hitch. The rear door opens wide enough to load from the back, and the shell's interior height clears most hitch assemblies. If you have an extremely tall hitch adapter, measure the clearance before ordering — high-rise shells offer the most room.
The 180 doesn't work with most bed racks because the shell sits directly on the bed rails where racks typically mount. If you need roof-level cargo space, consider our LEER 100XL model, which has factory crossbar integration. Alternatively, you can install a roof rack on the 180's exterior using aftermarket clamps.
The 180 is a mid-tier fiberglass shell with a focus on clean styling and secure storage. It has fewer windows than the 100XL but more features than the budget-oriented 100R. If you need commercial-grade durability and ladder racks, our DCC series is the heavier-duty option. The 180 hits the sweet spot for personal-use trucks where you want a finished interior and reliable weather protection.
Most customers install the 180 themselves with a helper. The process involves positioning the shell on the bed, sliding the clamps into place, and tightening the bolts. You'll need basic hand tools and about two hours. If you're not comfortable working on your truck or don't have a second person to help lift, any truck accessory shop can install it for you — labor typically costs between 100 and 200 dollars.
